March 5, 2021 is San Diego Poetry Annual Night, featuring post-show Q&A with SDPA’s Michael Klam and Anthony Blacksher!

With over 200 productions worldwide and penned by America’s most produced living playwright, I AND YOU is an achingly beautiful play that electrifies the connections between us all.
I AND YOU is streamed at scheduled times to enhance the interactive experience. Audiences will witness pre-show poetry by winners of MOXIE & Electric’s “Song Of Yourself Virtual Poetry Slam” contest, the recording of the production, and live post-show interactive discussions with special guest Michael Klam, executive editor of the San Diego Poetry Annual, board member of the San Diego Entertainment and Arts Guild, and editor and partner with Border Voices.

The 2020-21 San Diego Poetry Annual has published! Congratulations to all the featured poets.

The 2020-21 edition of the San Diego Poetry Annual features 269 poems by more than 250 poets, including the STEVE KOWIT POETRY PRIZE 2020 honorees, and many of the finest poets from our region and beyond, including former U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera, former U.S. Beat Poet Laureate Chris Vannoy, and internationally acclaimed poets Marge Piercy, Jan Beatty, and Maria Mazziotti Gillan, plus the Steve Kowit Poetry Prize honorees, Native Poets, and poems from Juvenile Hall.
Fractal, the bilingual volume of the San Diego Poetry Annual, edited by Olga Garcia, features 60 poems written in Spanish and translated into English, from 96 poets and translators. Southwestern College hosts a reading from the bilingual volume each
spring, and the Cultural Center of Tijuana hosts a reading each year.
The Kids! San Diego Poetry Annual 2020 was published on December 1, 2020. It contains 67 poems from 53 preteenagers (ages 6 to 12), and five original drawings, created in free workshops, some by Zoom during the pandemic.
The three volumes comprise the complete SDPA. All three volumes are donated to public and university libraries throughout our region. The SDPA is part of the permanent collections of the San Diego County and City Library systems, college and university
libraries, and the libraries of independent city in our region.
The Point Loma/Hervey Library National Poetry Month Celebration will feature readings from the 2020-2021 San Diego Poetry Annual. This virtual meeting will be on Wednesday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m. Register for the event at sandiego.librarymarket.com/.
