Anna Di Martino is a writer, artist, and educator. Her debut poetry collection offers an intimate, unflinching exploration of loneliness and the intricate landscape of the human heart. Through lyrical, visually evocative verse, she delves into the realities of love and loss, and the quiet resilience found in connection. Anna holds an MFA in Creative Writing: Poetry from Pacific University and BA in Art from UC Santa Cruz. She recently started Jackdaw Press, an independent press specializing in poetry. Anna lives in San Diego, where she enjoys spending time with her two daughters and her dog, Arlo. Anna Di Martino’s poetry collection, The Last Bite, will be available for purchase at the event.

Blas Falconer is the author of Rara Avis (Four Way Books 2024), winner of the Thom Gunn Award; Forgive the Body This Failure (Four Way Books, 2018); The Foundling Wheel (Four Way Books, 2012);  A Question of Gravity and Light (University of Arizona Press, 2007);  and The Perfect Hour (Pleasure Boat Studio: A Literary Press, 2006).  He is also a co-editor for The Other Latin@: Writing Against a Singular Identity (University of Arizona Press, 2011) and Mentor & Muse:  Essays from Poets to Poets (Southern Illinois University Press, 2010). He teaches in the MFA program at San Diego State University where he serves as the editor-in-chief of Poetry International Online.

Katie Manning is the founding editor of Whale Road Review and a professor of writing at Point Loma Nazarene University. Winner of the Main Street Rag Poetry Book Award for Tasty Other, she’s the author of eight poetry collections, most recently Hereverent (Agape Editions, 2023) and How to Play (Louisiana Literature Press, 2022). Ana Carrete lives in San Diego but has spent much of her life in Tijuana with family. She is a bilingual poet, a video-making, online-lit-mag-editing 21st-century poet. Michael Klam is associate publisher of the San Diego Poetry Annual. He is editor-in-chief of the bilingual edition of SDPA. Klam hosts San Diego Central Library’s Conversations with Poets.
