B-boy Tommy Chu is a local breakdancer and dance instructor. He directs, hosts and performs at breakdance competitions and exhibitions. Chu teaches breakdance at Culture Shock Dance Center and goes by BBoy Dopefx (dope effects) with the Gorilla Warfare Crew from the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been fortunate enough to travel to his homeland of Myanmar (Burma) to perform and teach the youth. He is a firm believer in the saying, “It’s not where you’re from, but where you’re going.”
